Privacy policy

SpecMatch is a Chrome extension that lays a design image over a web page so you can compare the two. This policy explains what it does with your data. The short version: it doesn't collect any.
What the extension stores
The design images you add and your settings for each site (position, opacity, scale, layer names) are saved in Chrome's local extension storage on your own computer. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Removing the extension deletes them.
What the extension does not do
- It has no servers and makes no network requests of its own.
- It has no analytics, tracking, ads or account.
- It does not read, collect or send the content of the pages you visit. It only adds its overlay and control panel to the page.
- It does not sell or share any data, because it has none.
Permissions and why they're needed
- activeTab and scripting: to show the overlay on the tab where you click the SpecMatch icon.
- storage and unlimitedStorage: to keep your layers on your computer. Design images can be larger than Chrome's default storage limit.
- Access to a site (optional): only if you turn on "Show automatically on this site", and only for that site, so your layers load on its pages. You can turn it off in the panel at any time.
